The Radyne Castle

Radyne is a castle built by Charles IV in the period 1356-1361 on a hilltop 1849 ft high. It was originally called "Charles' Crown", but subsequently assumed the name of the hill. It was the centre of the Royal Estate in the neighbourhood of Plzen.

Radyne is a modern type of castle in which the tower, palace and chapel are concentrated in one body, similar to, e.g., Kasperk near Susice. It is a Bohemian contribution to European castle architecture.
The builder was Vit Hedvabny. The castle was abandoned after fire around 1529.
