The Multimedia Conferencing Applications Archive

The tables below are an index to the source and binaries for conferencing tools which are also available via anonymous ftp from http://www.zcu.cz/ftp/pub/network/mbone/mice/ and http://www.zcu.cz/ftp/pub/network/mbone/mmrz/.
There are several ftp sites which mirror this server.

The numbers refer to the version numbers of the distribution.
Clicking on the number will start a file transfer of that file to your system.
If you click on the package name a description of that package is given plus links to any other packages that you may need to run the program. - in any column does not mean that the package does not exist, only that we don't have it here.

Other releases and other applications may be available from the ftp server in ftp://ftp.zcu.cz/pub/network/mbone/mice/unsupported/.

There are four Java based applications in this directory, mDesk, mTunnel webcanal and MVoD

A number of utilities for monitoring the multicast network and conference sessions are in ftp://ftp.zcu.cz/pub/network/mbone/mice/util/.

A reflector program can be used to inject CU-SeeMe audio and video into the MBONE. Also for the Mac is an audio tool called Maven by Charley Kline.

Conferences can be recorded for replay at a later time. This is especially useful if a multicast is being sourced from another timezone which results in you receiving it during unsociable hours. A distributed clientserver architecture called MBone VCR on Demand Service, written by Wieland Holfelder, does this job. It is available from this archive (see MVoD in the table above).

The third table indexes older versions of the software which are now deprecated. The supported software should be used in preference to these versions. This software is held in the deprecated directory on the ftp server and will be unlinked at some time in the future when their use has died away.
