Link to the Historical center video clip.House ref. no. 201 (27 nam. Republiky) used to be one of the largest houses in the city. It was Gothic-Renaissance with a large Gothic baywindow.
It is probable that assemblies of the Wallenstein officers were held here and the notorious declaration of loyalty to Albrecht von Wallenstein signed 12.1.1634.
In 1859 this most beautiful building was demolished, despite the protests of the Plzen public, and four plain houses built in its place. Of these, the building on the square was decorated with Ales frescoes showing a boy and a girl out looking for herbs.
